QUICK REACTIONS DRILL
This is a fun
partner drill. Face a wall and your training partner throws a ball at the wall.
Try to block the ball with your leg when it bounces back. Use different angels,
with different speed, with different sizes of balls. The more variations you
use, the better your results. For hand eye coordination try to catch the ball.
EXPLOSIVE POWER
FOR SPEED
Explosive power is what gives you
more height to your jumps and is the base for quick feet. I always like to do
basic squat jumps to get that explosiveness. Do a normal squat but from the down
position jump as high as you can. Concentrate on quickness and
explosiveness.
PURE QUICKNESS
One of the best drills for quick feet is cross-over running. Run
sideways and alternate your feet back and front as quick as possible. Run
different length of distance and do stop and go side way sprints. Alternate
them to challenge your body for the best results.
RESTING TIME
A simple
mistake athletes make is that they don't rest long enough.
When
training for speed rest at least 3 minutes between sets and do
every drill with maximum speed. Being well recovered from
previous day training is also very important.
